look around

In this day and age, every business needs a website. While I’m sure that you probably already know this, and probably already have a website for your business, do you know why you need it? Or do you just have one because you think you’re supposed to? Do you utilize your website to its full potential? Are you using your website correctly?

Here we’ll dig in to some top reasons why you need a website and what you should be doing with it to benefit your business.

Extension of your brand

Your website becomes and extension of your brand. It is your online presence that shows potential customers and clients what your brand is all about. It becomes the online visual representation of your brand. Your website also becomes a main touchpoint for potential clients + customers. It is a way to display what you do and why you do it so that those visitors can be converted into followers, customers, and clients. It is important that your brand is represented well and that you are communicating the right message for your target audience. You want to focus on reaching the right people with your website and making sure it is a true extension of your brand.

Easier to be found

It seems like everyone and everything is online these days. Every business needs to be online too. So many things are searched for via the internet, and if you cannot be found easily, then no one will know you exist. Sure, there are other ways to market your business than a website. But once you reach your target market elsewhere, where do you tell them to go to find out more about you? You can’t possibly explain everything you do and all about your brand in one short contact with potential customers or clients. Having a website gives you a home online. It gives you an online presence and makes it easier for your target audience to find you.

Connect with your audience

Your website can be utilized in many ways, but one of the most important is to connect with your audience. Whether or not you have a blog on your website, you can use your content to tell a story and connect with readers. You can include ways to get to know them and tell them how they can get in touch with you to connect even more. It is a great place to share links to all of your social media accounts and direct website visitors to find you on more platforms. It is also a great way to gain email list subscribers and further your connection with them.

Professionally display products + services

Do you ever find yourself answering the same questions over and over about your services? Do you have a hard time keeping track of your sales and telling people what you have available? A website can help you with that. A website is the perfect place to explain what you do and what you offer. It is the perfect way to list what products you have available (and even sell them!) and give detailed information and options for each product too.

While I do believe that all businesses need a website, that doesn’t mean that you can just throw up anything and call it a day. You have to put time and thought into what your website is communicating to your target market. Your website doesn’t have to have 50 pages and tons of content and images to do its job either. It just needs to be simple, clean, professional, and a reflection of your brand. Does your website do that?

Do you have a website for your business? If so, does it convert for you? If no, what’s holding you back?
