look around

Making 6 figures isn’t the only way to do business. But somewhere along the way 6 figures because the standard way to measure success as an online business. And it’s a lie.

There is no magic number that equals success in business. Because it all depends on YOU and YOUR business and YOUR definition of success. Building an intentional business means that you have to define what success means for you. For some people, that might be making 6 figures. For others, that might mean making enough to support your family. Either path can take you to success and one is not better than the other.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • The 6 figure success lie
  • 2 Things you do need to be successful

The 6 figure success lie

We hear so many stories about how small business owners are making 6 figures. They are making it appear easy and trying to teach you how to do it too.

But the truth behind it is that getting to the 6 figure mark requires time and money – something that we don’t always have to invest in our businesses, depending on our season and situation.

Even if you’re not making 6 figures in your business right now, you are still successful. You are still providing an income for your family and you are doing good work.

Your success is not defined in numbers and not defined in an industry “standard”.

The word standard is in quotes because I think there is a false view of standard in our industry sometimes. You define your success. You can decide what success means to you and how you want to achieve that. It might be a slower journey than the person next to you and it might not look like everyone says it’s supposed to, but it’s ok.

2 Things you do need to be successful

You don’t need to make 6 figures to be successful. The 6 figure success lie is an easy one to believe because it’s an enticing one. But there are a couple of things you do NEED to be successful, regardless of how you define that success.
